Science is definitely my life, or at least a big part of it. But there are so many wonderful things to learn about out there, skills you can acquire and ways to have fun in your free time. I’m all about learning new things, and by trying something new, you never know where it might take you!
I’m a hobbyist; a taxidermist, a gardener, a knitter, a quilter, a pretty decent chef and I’m even trying wood carving. I love travel, bird watching, camping, hiking, canoeing, outdoorsy stuff in general. My dog and I are in agility classes too.
You can learn how to do a lot on youtube (gotta love youtube), even in the comforts of your own home. I learned how to knit, crochet and sew from the internet.
I’m passionate about my hobbies. And they’ve been useful in my everyday life, including work; sewing cloth bags to safely contain small birds, taxidermy mounts to attract birds to mist nets for catching, working with and contributing to university specimen collections, the list goes on.
